Why grass fed beef is better for you and your family

It’s simple. When you feed cows a healthy diet… they produce more healthy beef for you and for our family too.

Grass is a cow’s natural diet. And grass fed beef is the healthier alternative for you and your family.

Well for a start, grass fed beef is higher in:

  • Omega-3 (Good Fat)
  • Antioxidants (Vitamins A and E)
  • Carotene for producing Vitamin A
  • CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid)
  • TVA (Trans-Vaccenic Acid)

So, what does that all mean?

Scroll down the page to learn more about why these are important in your diet.

Our cows graze contentedly on diverse pastures on the Liverpool plains of NSW. They eat nothing but grass and other diverse plants… ever!

As part of our commitment to conscious farming our pastures are also chemical free – plus, there are no hormones, no antibiotics and no GMOs. Read more about our chemical free grass fed beef.

And of course what’s good for you is good for us… our family are growing up strong and healthy eating our grass fed beef too. Read more about our family farm here

The right fats

Fats are a really important part of your diet… they make up a large proportion of your brain and have heaps of functions in a healthy body.

But you must eat the right ones in the right balance! Grass fed beef gives you the right balance of fats.

A ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids of around 2:1 is great, and that’s what grass fed beef gives you, just like in healthy wild game meats.

In grain fed beef the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 can be around 7:1 or even higher – and that’s not so good for you! You can make your grass fed beef even more healthy by cooking it right – read about cooking for the very best nourishment here

Vitamins, anti-oxidants and more good things!

Grass fed beef has higher levels of the life protecting antioxidants Vitamin A and E. These vitamins have cancer protective qualities and help to boost your immune system. CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) is a trans fatty acid that actually improves your brain function, helps with weight loss and is widely believed to reduce cancer risk. While lower in overall saturated fat, grass fed beef is higher in CLA than grain fed beef.

Our farming methods encourages greater nutrient density of your food. We’re working with nature to create living soils, diverse pasture communities and functioning water and mineral cycles. This means our beef is nutrient dense… and of course all these extra nutrients make it taste amazing!
